Celebrating Holi Considering Pandemic and Wellbeing Water

India will be soaked up in joy, color, and water this Monday when we will be celebrating Holi, the festival of spring, color, and love. However, this year, it will be slightly uncommon considering the pandemic we are going through and water scarcity.

Every year on Holi, the sky is filled with vibrant colors, laughter, and music. But the peril of COVID-19 is far from being over, which means that we cannot celebrate it like before. Yet, that does not mean that we will not have fun or celebrate Holi. If you want to know how we can make this year’s Holi enjoyable, keep scrolling!

  • Play in your home

Going out in between a large crowd to play Holi could be a risky move since the cases have been increasing in India again. But you can play on the terrace or in the garden of your house or the park nearby.

  • Invite limited members

Social distancing is essential; that’s why consider inviting fewer members to your party. Make sure that you and with whom you are playing have no signs of cough, cold, fever, or any weakness. If you are not feeling okay, then please try not to step out of the house.

  • Make sweets & snacks at home

Instead of buying food from outside, consider cooking them on your own. It might seem like a humongous task, but it can be fun when all the family members help each other while talking, dancing, or singing.

  • Use organic colors

These days, many chemical colors are available in the market that can be harmful to your skin, hair, and eyes. So, play Holi this year with organic natural colors like gulal (red color) and various others available in the market. These are soft and scented and will not harm your skin. Also, these colors come off quickly, so you won’t require more water to clean yourself after you are done playing.

Another vital thing to remember while playing Holi this year is not to waste water because India is facing the worst water calamity, and we cannot afford to waste even a single droplet of water for the sake of our fun and enjoyment. There are many other ways to enjoy the festival. Play with flowers, organic colors, organize play-offs, dance or sing your favorite songs, etc.

We know it is different, but it is for our benefit only. Nothing could be more important than anyone’s health. So, remember to wash or sanitize your hands at regular intervals, maintain social distancing, and don’t forget to wear your Holi mask.

Here is wishing everyone a happy and safe Holi!
