Wellness means practicing healthy habits so that instead of feeling low, tired, and just surviving, you can sustain a healthy life both physically and mentally.

Over the years, wellness is termed with physical well-being. We always hear and say that it is essential to stay fit, have proper weight, eat nutritious food to have a healthy body and glowing skin. However, we cannot limit wellness to only physical fitness. Mental health is equally important.

Earlier mental illness and wellness were looked upon negatively; however, with time, things have improved. People have started to acknowledge that mental illness is severe, and it is vital to take care of our minds with bodies.

Here are some tips for you to activate yourself physically and mentally.

1. Mind your eating habits

Nutrition can be a lifestyle change for you. You should try to add healthy, fibrous, protein-rich food to your diet. Start by replacing your snacks with fruits or raw veggies and portion control food.

2. Exercise is the key

Exercise can improve your overall well-being as it can lift your mood and make you feel light and relaxed. Don’t go overboard at the start. Start with walking daily for 25 to 30 minutes. Slowly you can go for yoga, sports, aerobic exercise, dancing, etc.3. Stay mentally active

Like your body needs exercise to keep working smoothly, the same goes for the brain. You can try to keep your mind active by playing think puzzles, learning a new skill like any instrument or sport, etc.

3. Don’t miss out on sleep

Restful sleep is vital; otherwise, you cannot function properly. For a relaxed sleep, try to avoid phone, caffeine before sleeping. Also, try to sleep and wake up at the same time to fall into a routine.

4. Be socially active

As we grow, the sense of isolation starts to get more and more into us. But it is essential to stay connected with your friends and family. Call an old friend and connect with them; you will feel better and fresh.

5. Self-care first

Before anything else, you need to take care of yourself. Take out time for yourself. Try to meditate or start writing a journal. You will become more aware of yourself and think about how you react and should react to situations.

It’s never late to start adapting to changes in your lifestyle. All you need is sheer determination and strong willpower to work something out. Hence, get on your feet and get started. You will feel the stress leaving and positive energy coming.
